Panasonic TC 14LA1 14 Inch LCD Flat Panel TV
Panasonic TC 14LA1 14 Inch LCD Flat Panel TV

Perfect for offices, dens, and dorm rooms, Panasonic’s compact, 14-inch TC-14LA1 LCD TV brings superb picture quality to places where one could not normally fit a high-resolution TV. At just 2.5 inches deep, the TC-14LA1 is easy to carry and position. Optimized for both television viewing and media playback, the TC-14LA1 has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner, a standard 4:3 aspect ratio to match your favorite television programs, high brightness, and a 450:1 contrast ratio for exceptional picture clarity. Its 16 ms response time makes it well suited to fast-moving video games and action films.
LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch “flyback” noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (with no risk of image burn-in), space savings, light weight/easy positioning, and energy efficiency (most LCDs use substantially less power than their CRT equivalents). They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually “spec” higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).
This set can display enhanced-definition TV (EDTV) programming in the 480p signal format (DTV receiver optional) and will also display 480p signals from a progressive-scan DVD player at full resolution. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.
A 3D Y/C digital comb filter digitally separates the color information from the black and white portions of the signal, removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character’s striped T-shirt).
Other enhancements include LCD AI (Artificial Intelligence), which continuously monitors signal conditions to maintain high picture contrast; Active Light Circuitry, which detects the brightness of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly; and Active System Control, which dynamically adjusts the video signal according to image contrast. Together with Active Light Circuitry, this technology adds brilliance to bright scenes and brings more depth to dark ones.
The unit also features stereo speakers, bass and treble controls, SAP reception, and simulated surround sound.

User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars An excellent LCD TV for anywhere with limited space.
This is a great little TV that seems to do everything well. The picture is pretty darned good as LCDs go–it is very brilliant and crisp, although in common with all LCD screens that I’ve seen it sometimes is less-than-perfect for dark scenes. The built-in speakers are mostly OK, although you in my opinion the set benefits significantly if you use bigger outboard speakers.
This is a great choice for limited space applications. I installed mine in my boat, and I love it! The kids love it! We use ours mainly to watch DVDs, and it is great for this. Panasonic quality is a joy to behold, and this TV hits the mark. Recommended.
